News Reports on the latest UK Tier 2 visa allocation of restricted certificates of sponsorship meeting state that the number of Tier 2 Visa Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) available for January 2019 stands at 2,119. The UK Visas and Immigration department published its December report, citing that its figures were correct as of 19th December, 2018.
This comes as continuing good news for Tier 2 Sponsor employers wishing to employ ideal candidates who reside outside the UK through a Tier 2 visa. There is plenty of availability left in the quota. In most cases as long as the other requirements are met it should be possible to obtain a Tier 2 visa. There is continuing uncertainty relating to Brexit, however complications can be avoided by working alongside a skilled immigration lawyer.
An employer with a Tier 2 Sponsor Licence needs to apply for Certificates of Sponsorship for the non-British candidates they wish to employ. Under the current UK immigration system, unused Tier 2 restricted Certificates of Sponsorship to employ people who are currently based outside the UK, can be reclaimed after three months. This further increases their availability.
The number of certificates reclaimed as not used for the month of December totalled 242, allowing for plenty more British employers the opportunity to hire from overseas.
The December Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship allocation meeting took place on the 12th of December, 2018. All valid applications lodged by the 5th were successful, provided they scored the 21 points needed for an application to be approved.
