The Green Party’s primarily addresses immigration in the context of Brexit and the rights of EU nationals in the UK and immediately guaranteeing the rights of EU citizens to remain in the UK’ andalsoprotect freedom of movement. The party even commits to hold a second EU referendum, which includes the ‘option to reject the deal and remain in the EU’.

The party wishes to‘guarantee the rights of young people to study, work, live and travel in the EU, including through schemes like Erasmus’. Further the party intends to have ‘a humane immigration and asylum system that recognises and takes responsibility for Britain’s on-going role in causing the flow of migrants worldwide’. The party is clear that it does not have a vision for a post-Brexit immigration system and that the party is pledging to maintain the current system to a large extent. Lastly, it also promises to ‘defend the Human Rights Act’, and UK membership of the European Convention on Human rights, and reinstate funding for the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
