The UK has launched a new visa to encourage high-potential individuals to come to the UK.

Here are the important UK High Potential Individual Visa requirements

The UK High Potential Individual (HPI) visa, launched on 30th May 2022, is designed to attract extremely brilliant foreign university graduates who will be able to work and live in the UK for 2 to 3 years, depending on their degree level.

Applicants will not need a job offer or sponsorship, and holders of this visa will be able to work, be self-employed, and volunteer in the UK.

According to Minister for Safe & Legal Migration, “The new High Potential Individual route will make it as straightforward as possible for foreign individuals with high potential to come to the UK.” “Those who have already proved their potential via academic accomplishment will be permitted to enter the UK without having a job offer.”

The first step is to have a degree from a world-renowned university. The UK government has released a list of approved universities.

• Times Higher Education World University rankings
• Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University rankings
• The Academic Ranking of the World Universities

This visa route is not a pathway to settlement; however, the applicant can switch to other work-permitted categories, like

• The UK Skilled Worker Visa
• The UK Start-up Visa
• The UK Innovator Visa

To be successfully eligible for a High Potential Individual Visa, you will have to meet the English language requirements.

• If the applicant’s degree was not taught in English, he or she must pass an English language test at the B1 level in each of the four areas: reading, writing, speaking, and listening
• If the applicant’s degree was taught in English and granted outside the United Kingdom, ECCTIS will need to validate that the qualification fits the requirements for a UK Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree

Applicants for a UK High Potential Individual visa must show that they have at least £1,270 in their bank account for 28 consecutive days.
