The government recently unveiled the High Potential Individual Visa UK, which would allow talented skilled professionals in a variety of fields to live and work in the country without the need for employer sponsorship.

The “very selective” visa scheme will launch on May 30, 2022, with the goal of “attracting high-skilled overseas talent from prestigious universities” to help the UK in a range of industries.

Bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD graduates from 50 of the world’s top-ranked universities, as listed in an annual “Global Universities List,” will be eligible to participate.

In a statement, Minister for Safe and Legal Migration Kevin Foster said, “The new High Potential Individual route will make it as straightforward as possible for internationally mobile individuals who exhibit high potential to come to the UK.” “Those who have already proved their potential via academic accomplishment will be permitted to enter the UK without having a job offer.”
Only institutions from outside the UK will be included in the list, which will be released by the Home Office.

Furthermore, participating universities must be listed in at least two of three reputable rankings:

• The Academic Ranking of the World Universities,
• Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings,
• and Times Higher Education World University Rankings are among them.

• The applicant must be from a top global university
• The applicant must be awarded an overseas bachelor’s postgraduate degree qualification in the last 5 years (from a top global university)
• The university/institution must appear on the Home Office’s Global Universities List
• The applicant must know how to understand and communicate in English to a certain level (being able to write, read, speak and listen to atleast level B1)
• If you are from a majority English-speaking country, you are only requires to prove your identity and nationality
• You must be able to meet the minimum financial requirement of at least £1,270
