Family members of immigrants who are in the UK on a Points-based System Visa, such as a UK Skilled Worker Visa, can apply as a Dependant of the main applicant. The following family members qualify as a “Dependant”:

• Spouse OR an unmarried partner OR same-sex partner
• Children under the age of 18 years
• Adult children over the age of 18 years (if they are Dependant on the main applicant who is currently in the UK)

When taking Dependants along, the applicant (Dependant) will need to provide the following documents required for Dependant Visa UK:

• Details of any previous immigration applications you’ve made
• Details of any criminal convictions
• Your national insurance number (if you have one)
• Your parents’ date of birth and nationality (if you are applying from outside the UK)

• You have a genuine and subsisting relationship with the main applicant

• Police clearance certificate – You will need to provide a criminal record certificate if you are applying from outside the UK and you work in education, for example, teachers, education advisers and school inspectors, childminders, teaching assistants
• TB test certificate: You will need to have tuberculosis (TB) test if you are coming to the UK for more than 6 months and if:
  • You live in any of these listed countries, and/or
  • You have lived in any of these listed countries in the past 6 months
