You can visit the UK as a prospective student if you intend to study in the UK under Tier 4 of the points-based system but you have not completed all the arrangements for your course of study. For example, you can come here as a prospective student if you have been provisionally accepted on a course, with final acceptance dependent on an interview.

For people who need to finalize their arrangements for their Tier 4 course of study in the UK. For students applying on the Tier 4 visa they are required to have 40 points in total. A valid Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies from a fully licensed Tier 4 sponsor (30 points) and adequate funds to cover course fees and monthly living costs (also known as maintenance or funds) 10 points.

The applicants will also need to ensure that they do not fall for refusal under the general grounds for refusal listed in the Immigration rules. This means that even if the applicant meets other requirements of the category, there may be other reasons why the Home Office will refuse your application.
