If your partner receives certain benefits or allowances in the UK, you may be exempt from meeting the financial requirement for UK Spouse Visa by demonstrating “adequate maintenance”.

Adequate maintenance funds means

• If your UK-based spouse (known as a sponsor) can demonstrate that they have enough money to support themselves and their partner without relying on public funds, then you may not need to meet the financial requirement
• These adequate maintenance funds can come from various sources, such as savings, investments, or other assets

If you (the main applicant) or your spouse (the sponsor) receive any of the following UK benefits, you will not be required to meet the financial requirement for UK Spouse Visa.

This includes the following:

• Carer’s Allowance
• Disability Living Allowance
• Severe Disablement Allowance
• Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
• Attendance Allowance
• Personal Independence Payment

• Police Injury Pension
